We’re turning a new page to 2021.
Prepare with a clear head, a blank page and a new set of goals.
Here are our top 5 tips for goal setting and actually achieving them!
1. Have a clear vision and write it down on paper.
We’re more likely to achieve a goal if we put pen to paper. Understanding what your goal actually entails is crucial to achieving it. Whether this is learning how to cook your grandma’s famous recipe, creating a healthy work-life balance or finally mastering that yoga pose.
2. Set a time limit on your goal.
Do you want to achieve this goal before June, before 2022 or before your next birthday? Whatever it may be, a time limit helps to allocate your time and set mini goals as stepping-stones to reaching your ultimate goal within the timeframe you’ve set for yourself.
3. Understand your strengths and weaknesses.
It’s no use to anyone setting a goal that can’t be attained. Capitalise on the skills and knowledge to propel yourself towards your goal. Meanwhile, acknowledge your weaknesses and make a conscious effort to work on them.
4. Make a moodboard.
We find that creating a compilation of visuals that represent what achieving your goal means to you is a great way to maintain your motivation. Keep this moodboard in a place that you look at frequently, whether this be by your bedside, the wall above your desk or on the fridge. This will keep it at the forefront of your conscience so that you don’t forget what it is you’re working towards and why.
5. Don't be too hard on yourself!
It is very easy to be overwhelmed with timelines and comparisons. Even the smallest amount of work everyday towards your goal is a step closer to achieving it. Whether this be messaging a potential client, going for a short run in the morning or taking out some time for yourself. All of these small actions everyday will propel you towards achieving your goal.
We hope that these tips will help you smash your goals for 2021!
